The law 14,286/21, which regulates the foreign exchange and international capital markets and the provision of information to the Central Bank of Brazil, brought a series of changes to the Brazilian exchange rate framewok. The rules of the New Exchange Framework have been in effect since December 31, 2022.
Among the changes is the end of the mandatory exchange contract in the traditional format. The document for formalization must contain the minimum data required by the Central Bank of Brazil. Many institutions started to use a sort of exchange receipt with essential information about the operation.
